This error code means there was invalid format found somewhere during the join process.
As of now this typically means incorrect krb5.conf file. Could you check whether this
file is in place and is valid ? That's the place I'd start looking for an error.

If at all possible, provided that krb5.conf turns out invalid, please attach the file
or only the invalid part so we could reproduce the problem and fix potential bug in error
reporting. Thanks!
