Hi folks,

I'd recently learned about Likewise, and I'm pretty excited about the potential for it. But I've got a question and I'm hoping you can help. First, I've read the manual, and didn't see anything related to this question. However, my wife says I suffer from Male Pattern Blindness, so if that's the case, please point me to where it is and I'll shut up.

I support two small networks that are running MS Windows Small Business Server 2003 as their domain controllers. Each network is predominantly XP, with one or two Macs thrown in. In each, the mac users have had issues when connecting to AD-controlled printers, but they've learned to adapt, by authenticating whenever required. When I first learned about Likewise, I joined my own Macbook Pro to one of the domains, for testing purposes. So far, it seems to work very well - no more need to authenticate at random times, and more accurate information is seen in the AD logs re: the Mac - including proper identification of it in AD Users & Computers.

Now here's my question: when AD expires a password, how will OS-X handle the request to generate a new one? I've attempted to trigger this 3 times now, by expiring the password on the domain user account I've created. However, that does not force a password change dialog on the Mac at login. Attempts to access network file shares generate an error message telling me to change the password, but does not provide a password change dialog.

Did I miss something? I'm sure I did. Care to point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
Perry
