No. Not supported. It can work but is beyond the scope
of what we are trying to accomplish with the project/product.
I think that often times a project errs but making things
too flexible and therefore ends up with software that
is too complicated.
So for Likewise Open, we are supporting two idmap plugins.
The Open one and the Enterprise mapping one. We're not
trying to be "Samba" by another name.
Of course, the beauty of open code is that you of course
can make it whatever you like. I do try to keep all our
changes going upstream so that likewise-winbindd is very
close to the upstream Samba Winbind. So the code changes
to make the idmap_ad plugin from Samba to work with Likewise
Open are relatively small.
I'd be glad to go into more technical details but wanted to
make the scope and intent of Likewise Open clear first.
